Hard Copy

Nothing else can offer travel comfort of actual ink and paper.
Digital books are light weight and great reading, but only give frustration in a long wait with a low battery.
Tucking an under 300 page paperback can offer entertainment rather than boredom.
The classic writer, Robert Heinlein, has Science Fiction escapes in the 100 page+ range.
Used paperbacks can be donated along the way for more take home travel space.

What is a Carry-on Size?

Most US airlines allow one carry on of 45 liner inches.
Defined as measuring three sides, Height, length, width and the total is less than 45' to qualify as a carry-on. A full size carry-on is still big enough to bump folks going down the isle of an airplane.
Consider a pilots case. Defined as 35 liner inches. Still roomy for many things but much more manageable.
The caption is offered by Rimowa and a duffel style.

Handy Monocular

Traveling with a monocular is a handy tool.

1. A monocular can hang, handy, from the neck.

2. One can enjoy distant scenery, such as mountain goats on a near by hill, or the beauty of Alaska.

3. A monocular can find distant objects, like ships on the sea.

4. In foreign city walking a monocular can read street sign and help get you to distant sites.

A monocular is an enjoyable tool that is worth its size and weight in traveling light.
